Donate Blood Today

This is the giving season, so why not give the gift of life and donate blood. The Blood Mobile will be out and about today!

You have the opportunity today to donate blood at Walmart on JBS in Odessa from now until 1pm today.  All participants at this Blood Drive will be entered into a drawing for a $250 Visa gift card and receive a t-shirt.

It is so important that you donate blood this holiday season. Due to recent weather conditions and busy schedules blood donation is down. This time of year the need for blood tends to rise. It only takes about 30-45 minutes and you could save up to 3 lives.

If you were ever the one in need of blood, you would hope that someone would have donated!

To donate blood, you must be at least 16 years of age (16 year olds must have written permission from a parent or guardian). You must be at least 110 pounds (certain height and weight requirements for 16-21 year olds), must be in good general health and must have valid I.D. On Monday morning, Dec. 23 only, potential donors can go on-line from the comfort of their home and complete the health history questionnaire.  Upon completion of the questionnaire, donors print out a form with a bar code and then bring that to the blood drive.  The on-line questionnaire can be found at www.unitedbloodservices.org .   Or call United Blood Services at 432-561-5539 for more information.
