It’s official: Country music superstar and reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryanwill be this year’s halftime performer during the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game, kicking off The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettle Campaign.

Luke’s live and nationally-televised halftime show will mark the 19th year of the Dallas Cowboys and Salvation Army partnership. Since the first Red Kettle Kickoff on Thanksgiving Day 1997, the Cowboys have helped the Army raise over $2 billion. Last year alone, the Red Kettle Campaign – which runs from Thanksgiving Day to Christmas Eve – raised $144.7 million, helping provide meals, shelter, Christmas toys and numerous other services for millions of people in need.

Cowboys executive vice president and chief brand officer Charlotte Jones Anderson, who annually produces the halftime show, had a chance to catch up with Luke during his stop in Dallas for his ongoing “Kick the Dust Up Tour” this past weekend. The Country Girl and Play It Again singer said he was excited to return to the Dallas area in just over a month’s time for the Thanksgiving Day show.

“As a football fan, I’m especially excited to be performing on Thanksgiving Day,” said Luke. “It’s also an honor to spotlight two great organizations like the Dallas Cowboys and The Salvation Army and raise awareness for all the great work they do.”

Charlotte described Luke as the “perfect fit” for the Red Kettle Kickoff.
