In June, Kip Moore revealed that he had plans for not one but three new projects, including a new acoustic album that will showcase a stripped-down, intimate side of his songwriting. Now, the country star says that fans will have that project in their hands very soon.

"It's right around the corner," Moore explained at the 2018 ACM Honors ceremony. "That's the update. I'm finished."

Moore goes on to say that the project came from demand from his most faithful fans. He adds that the fact that the record is so important to his listeners makes it even more important to him.

"It's special to me," he says. "It's what the diehards have been asking for for a while. I heard their rally around it, so we're about to deliver."

Beyond being an acoustic response to fans' requests, there is still no word on what direction the album will take. However, Moore has shared in the past that both folk and classic rock 'n' roll influenced him early in life, and that those influences are apparent in his music.

"I had a wide range of musical influences," he told The Boot backstage at the 2018 Country Jam. "And I think once that's been in your blood for a long time, it filters out at different times in your life."

Meanwhile, Moore is gearing up for his Fall 2018 After the Sunburn Tour, which kicks off on Sept. 20. The country star says he's particularly excited to watch opening acts Jordan Davis -- who toured with Moore in the fall of 2017 -- and Jillian Jacqueline in action on the road.

"I'm looking forward to seeing how Jordan's progressed in a year, seeing him do a full set," Moore says. "He's a good-hearted dude, and he works hard. And I'm excited to Jillian Jacqueline do her thing, too.

"And then, us -- hopefully we'll be able to pull out a few new tricks," he adds with a laugh.
