New Years Day is another day full of traditions. Whether it be watch football all day, hang out with finds, or go shopping, its a day full of traditions.

I have always been told, and I know many people do, you should eat black eyed peas and cabbage on New Years.

I learned that eating black eyed peas on New Year's is a southern tradition, thought to bring prosperity. Eating cabbage on New Year's Day is said to bring you good luck.

I love cabbage so I don't mind eating it, but I can't stand black eyed peas. My mom has always made me it them. So to cover up the taste I cannot stand I smother them in ketchup.

This year I was so excited to add homemade jambalaya and bread pudding.  to the menu. I am slowly developing in to the good little cajun girl I was destined to be!

My best friend and I made our first pot of jambalaya and it was delicious! I am so proud of myself. The only thing is I didn't not realize how long and how detail it is to make. It is definitely something you can just throw together.

Hopefully you eat all your favorites and your not so favorites. Happy New Year everyone!
