1 an 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Awareness and prevention is so important. That is what October is all about. Cancer can happen at any age but, as I get older I need to take more precaution.  Statistics say women should begin regular mammograms at age 35 but once again cancer can occur at any age. That is why self exams are so important and yearly check ups as well.

With the job that I have I do my best to get the word out about many causes but this one especially. I know several  women including family members who have had breast cancer, so I feel it is so important for me to participate in the fight. The stylist at Salon Adara in Midland have volunteered there skills to raise money for the American Cancer Society. They are putting in pink extensions for $10 and donating 100% to the American Cancer Society. I love the fact that they are not doing it for themselves but for their loved ones and clients who have beaten breast cancer. So now I am showing my pink.  Just a small gesture for such a great cause. You don't have to be a client to get one. You can walk in and they will take care of you. Salon Adara is located on the corner of Illinois an G st in Midland. Get all your friends together and do it as a group. 432-682-3100. Once again a small gesture for such a great cause. GO PINK!
