Sunoco LP last Thursday (April 6) announced that it entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement for the sale of a majority of its convenience stores to 7-Eleven, Inc. When I first saw this press release, I was shocked and then I read on. What does this mean for the majority of West Texas that already has a franchise of 7-Elevens under the Alon brand? The 200 Stripes stores that are in West and North Texas will be sold in a separate sale to be determined by mid summer. What brand would you want to take over those stores?
Personally, I'd like to see the QuikTrip (QT) brand make an emergence in West Texas. Let us know in the comments what you think of all this switching around.
