Happy Birthday Willie

Happy Birthday to the legendary Red Headed Stranger Willie Nelson! Willie Nelson is celebrating his 81st birthday yesterday!

At 81 years of age he is still touring and just received at his 5th Degree Black Belt in Karate. He was also recently inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. He has roads and streets named after him and a bronze statue in downtown Austin of him.

As a young man, Willie joined the US Air Force and was later discharged due to a back injury. He then became a disc jockey for a radio station here in Texas. All while writing songs. He moved to Washington and recorded his first hit.

In 1964 Willie Nelson joined the Grand Ole Opry. He also ran around with a few tough outlaws like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and Chris Christopherson, making him one of the Highway Men.

We all know that Willie Nelson is still rocking and rolling and I personally believe he won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I think he will forever be herbally preserved. LOL
