I am growing butterflies.

Hospice House Foundation Inc., every real holds a butterfly release ceremony to remember loved ones that have been lost. Names are read and butterflies are released during a memorial service.

There will be four different memorial services one in Midland at Midland College, one in Odessa at The Globe Theater, one in Andrews at Pioneer Park Community Building, and one in Big Spring at the Dora Roberts Community Center.

In order to have enough butterflies to release they recruit class rooms and people to grow butterflies and i just happen to a one of the lucky ones chosen to be a part of this beautiful process.

When I first got my culture of larvae they just looked like little worms, now they are big caterpillars and working their way up to the top to begin to hand and make the cocoon. After they chrysalis process I will place them in a net until they are ready to be released.
