I guess I really am starting to get older. I used to despise yard work, I thought it was a man's job and I didn't want to have anything to do with yard work. So, I would just pay someone to do it for me.

Now, I love it. I have found some homemade products to use on my yard and I am wondering if they work?

The first one is a weed killer.

1 Gallon of Vinegar

2 Cups of Epson Salt

1/4 Cup of Dawn Dish Soap (the blue original one)

My question is does this work and will it kill my grass? Has anyone every tried this?

The next one is a mosquito repellent!

15 drops of lavender oil

3-4 teaspoons of vanilla extract

1/4 cup of lemon juice

This seems like it would not be as harsh as bug spray. Has one one tried it?

The third one is to keep flies away.

Apparently, flies hate Pine Sol. You make a half and half mix of Pine Sol and water in a spray bottle and you use it to wipe counters or spray on the porch or patio furniture. It is supposed to drive them away. Has anyone ever tried this one.
