Andrews County Pro Rodeo is back, May 10-11 at the ACE Arena.

The Andrews County Expo (ACE) Arena will be home to the second annual Andrews County Pro Rodeo with partial proceeds benefitting the Andrews County 4H on May 10-11, 2019. This action packed rodeo will be sanctioned by the United Professional Rodeo Association as well as being co-sanctioned with the New Mexico Rodeo Association. It earned the prestigious title of Best New Rodeo of the Year in the UPRA United Professional Stand United Series last year. The event will feature nine rodeo events including: Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Ranch Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down Roping, Ladies Breakaway, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and of course the fan favorite event Bull Riding.  Along with these events there will also be Freestyle Bullfighting, Mutton Bustin’, and a specialty act featuring UPRA Barrelman, the Misfit Cowboy-Brian Patton and his famous longhorn, Roscoe.
The Andrews Country Pro Rodeo will be produced and announced by professional rodeo announcer, T.C. Long from Athens, Texas.  He is originally from Andrews and began his announcing career early on as a teenager announcing events at the original Andrews County Rodeo Arena on Highway 385.  T.C. is the son of former Andrews residents, Stan and Linda Long.  Long was very instrumental in bringing innovations to the original Andrews County Rodeo Arena throughout his high school years and did his part in bringing large rodeos to Andrews as he served as the president of the AHS Rodeo Club.  He also produced the first Andrews County Fair that took place at the old livestock show barn.  This event provided an opportunity for the youth of Andrews to learn about and promote agriculture in the community.  T.C.’s love for rodeo and his passion of producing events is the driving force in utilizing Andrews’ state of the art facility, the ACE Arena, as the home of the Andrews County Pro Rodeo.  He hopes this event will be a mainstay in Andrews for many years to come and will be provide a large economic benefit to his hometown while providing outstanding rodeo entertainment.
This award-winning event will take place nightly with the doors opening at 6:00 pm, mutton bustin’ at 6:30 pm, and rodeo action starting at 7:30 pm, May 11th and 12th.   Tickets will be available for presale purchase from any local 4H member in Andrews for $10 for ages 12 and older. Also, you can purchase tickets online
