Fifty years ago today Dr. Martin Luther gave one of the most memorable speeches of all time. Today in 1963 Dr. King stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and delivered a speech that would be a defining moment in the Civil Rights movement.

Life today is so different than it was in the 1960's. Today everyone goes to the same schools, eats in the same restaurants, and has equal opportunity in life. I can't imagine what life was like back then. There was so much hatred. All of it based on the color of someone's skin.
I am so glad I live in the time I live in today. I always try to see a person, not the color of their skin. To me people are people, they are not one color or the other.

I am so greatful there were people like Dr. King that stood up and fought for what was right.
