With three young children, there is no doubt that Jessie James Decker and her husband, Eric Decker, have their hands full. But Decker insists she's committed to getting by without relying on hired help.

“I don’t have nannies,” Decker tells People. “I take care of my children. I know that I take care of my babies, I know that they feel loved and they feel happy.”

Her comments came after she was asked about a recent Instagram photo she shared that showed her nursing her infant son, born in March, with a glass of wine in her hand — a photo that led to major social media controversy.

Country Music's Sexiest Female Voices ... Ever

"I honestly feel like I’m the voice of all the moms," Decker says. "I definitely feel like they get heat for certain things. I know I’m a great mother, there’s not one doubt in my mind."

Decker admits she has no problem with having an occasional drink while breastfeeding, and that, ‘If I’m going to have a cocktail to celebrate my husband doing something great in his work, I’m going to."

She may have a point. The latest research indicates that the occasional use of alcohol is not harmful to nursing babies. The American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Breastfeeding says that drinking while nursing should be minimized to an occasional intake, but in general, experts assure that if you are sober enough to drive, you are sober enough to breastfeed.

Last month, Decker's husband Eric announced his retirement from football after a career that had spanned seven years. During his career, he played for the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and Denver Broncos. His wife was by his side through much of it.

"I cried, smiled and ultimately respected his choice to finish this chapter to start another," she admits in another Instagram post.
