Kelly Clarkson does it again with a unique cover on this year’s Piece by Piece tour, this time choosing for herself a classic country-blues tune suitable for Nashville: Bonnie Raitt’s “Love Me Like a Man.” Typically Clarkson has been taking audience requests, which has resulted in a random but well-executed collection of covers, including 'N Sync’s “Bye, Bye, Bye,” Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” and even Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk."

For this show, however, Clarkson already had a song in mind. The country capital of the world — now the Texas girl’s hometown — has held a special place in the singer's heart for a while now. Clarkson has expressed her love for the Nashville-birthed genre in the past and has said her step-mother-in-law, Reba McEntire, is one of her inspirations.

Before the song, Clarkson revealed she’s been wanting to do this one for a while, and the audience was not complaining. This woman knows her voice and totally crushed the performance.

“This is literally, probably my favorite song of all time,” she gushed before launching into the stripped-down first verse.

Clarkson has been lighting up the stage all over the country not only with her fun covers, but also with some endearing candid moments. The artist once stopped her song “Breakaway” just to hold a baby in the audience, and later gave an impromptu pregnancy announcement on stage in L.A.

“I was totally not planning on announcing this, but I’m totally pregnant,” Clarkson explained in her classically down-to-earth style. "I’m having a really hard time. I just don’t want you to think I’m on pills or drunk or something."

The Piece by Piece tour continues through the fall.
