If you've never been to the St. Jude campus in Memphis, Tennessee, let us take a virtual tour!

The hospital was originally going to be a general children's hospital, but founder Danny Thomas soon decided it should be more than that. Back in 1955, only 20% of children with cancer survived. That's just 1 in 5!

So Danny and a group of businessmen rallied their resources and started to build a place that not only treated children, but removed the burden of the treatment costs for the families so they can focus on their child.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital opened its doors on February 4, 1962 and since then, it has raised the survival rate of childhood cancer from 20% to 80%!

Inside these buildings, treatment and research are making miracles and breakthroughs that are freely shared with the world so that knowledge can save thousands of more children.

And as always, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
