The Voice VS American Idol

Last night as I was watching The Voice, after announcement of the return of American Idol, I started to examine the difference between the two. There are definitely major differences between the two.

You can tell by the contestants that are chosen and the votes that are cast there is a big difference. The Voice seems to be watched by an older, more conservative, obviously country audience and the Idol seems to be watched by a younger more pop audience.

Although both shows appear to want the more mature musically sound judges and not the pre-madonnas.. One thing about The Voice is it truly about the contestants and not so much about the judges. Where before Idol seem to focus on what punches the judges were going to pull.

So, I want to know which one do you prefer. I would have to go with The Voice. I like the judges better, the focus  better and they allow more country.
